Tried glueing pads  on mine but they've fallen off today cos of all the water. Has anyone got any tips to protect the life of my pack? cheers peeps

your right to protect the bottom as i wore holes in the bottom of my first backpack i used ratchett straps to hold  6mm ply on the bottom.
then binned it all together and went with van mount

Put mine on a shopping trolley frame, the frame weighs less than a kilo so still easy to pick up and carry if I have to, but most of the time just wheel it around.

i did wear it and took it in and out the back of the van 25+ times a year which is what gradually wore down the corners of the backback it started weeping water as the walls got gradually thinner when i was getting a wet back i changed to van mount

What backpack are you using and what are you doing to it ?

It's a Shurflo bud. But as mentioned, after taking it in and out the van untold times and placing it on road to fill does take its toll on the corners. I used to cure the problem by filling insides with glue when it showed small cracks but i'd prefer the more preventative route.

Just don't go dropping it and it should be okay.  Mine's about three-years-old and it gets a regular hammering and it's going fine.

I've stuck it on a heavy duty trolley, since I was sick of breaking the smaller, flimsier, fold up types.  It's a bit bulky, and definitely heavier; and the jury is still out whether I prefer the heavier sturdy sack truck, or the lighter, flimsy ones.

Tosh, have you seen those fishing trollies on ebay?

Done similar.  Fitted mine to a lightweight folding trolley.  Used the wasteband to hold it on.  Actually looks quite professional as the back pack and trolley look like they are a manufactured unit.  As I don't have it on my back any more I brim it with around 20 litres which is enough for even my biggest houses.
