I got a Wagtail a few weeks back and was just about mastering it after a few modifications.
Now before i go on i know it is my fault for altering the Wagtail but it might be useful advice for anyone else doing what i did.
I found the rubber supplied with the Wagtail too hard so replaced it with some favourite soft pulex and also dog eared the channel ends, there are no end clips on the rubber as it is held in place by a centre screw.
This morning doing one of my regular shop cleans i heard the unmistakable screech of sharp metal on glass and the sickening sight of a bad scratch on the glass.
What had happened was the rubber had pulled clear of the dog ear and the channel end had scored the glass, tried rubbing it out but it is scratched and a pretty bad one at that.
No-one in the shop at the time but i am back next week to face the music while the Wagtail lurks somewhere in the bowels of the van discarded and in disgrace.
Anyone had this problem before ? i am just glad this never happened on a domestic job as i found the Wagtail handy for cleaning dormer windows off the ladder with a pole .
In time i may dig it back out and see if i can fit some end clips or a brass channel onto it.
