Triggers! Triggers!!Triggers!!!
« on: February 18, 2010, 10:23:54 pm »
For the past few days now I have been trying to addapt my harris pole further to include a trigger to save my "magic water" and to get more from a tank.
So my question to you all is what do you use on yours if at all  ???

   Thanks Tom

Couple of choices....

Tap on a belt... You buy a leather holster and fit your tap in it.

Tap on the pole... Purefreedom sell a bracket you attatch to your pole that fits a tap

Trigger... Again attatched to your pole

I tuck my hose through my belt so my tap is almost on my hip, turn it off between windows, saves loads of water over the course of the day.

Forget the tap on your belt idea.

1) the taps ooze water once they get past the first few months of use - wet trousers

2) you dont want to be attached to you hose because if you are anything like me you have to keep putting it down then  going back to clear where it has wrapped around something

Use one of these.

http://www.equip4work.co.uk/store/product.asp?spc=K150

You cna attach it with a velcro cable tie and it will easily slide up and down so that you can adjust your grip on the pole.

Then bend an alloy strip into shape and wind your excess hose round that. It can be attached using velcro cable ties too.

Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

I use 3 sections of my unger pole, but on occasion use the 4th and 5th sections. Jubilee clips would be too much hassle to keep taking off. Plus I can slide the tidy up and down the pole if I need to.

I use Algarde pole hose, just fold and hold, I also have a small piece of thicker diameter hose tied to the pole, I can fold my pole hose and push the fold into the thicker piece of hose to stop the flow altogether when I leave the pole.
