Varistream broken
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:13:18 pm »
Evening all.My varistream controller seems to have packed up after it's been in storage for a few months.I'm not sure how but the button seems to have become depressed (winter blues maybe  ;D) and won't pop back out on it's own. When I pry it out with something it doesn't seem to be functioning.Any advice appreciated.Failing that, can anyone recommend a firm that fixes such gizmos?Cheers.

Wire your pump direct to your battery with a toggle switch and a 15 amp fuse in the positive feed.

Control the flow with a tap at the end of your pole hose.

Adjust the pressure cut off on the pump (little allen screw in pressure switch cap) so that the pump doesn't cycle when you restrict the flow.

Works perfectly

Why use expensive unreliable and unnecessary electronic gizmos?  We were all doing it like this before Williamsons produced the controllers

I had this once and a squirt of WD40 left to soak in did the trick. It started playing up again after a few months though. If it does ever pop out the best bet is to either arrange the battery so you can pop a croc clip off and on instead of pressing the button or get yourself one of those wireless remotes to switch on and off. TRhat way you wont need to mess with the button and you can leave it in the on position.
