yep thats the filter housing they just screw of in a anti clockwise turn lift the filter out and drop the new 1 in its just the top of the filter housing that you unscrew . becareful with the sensor these are easy to damage you will have to disconect this along with the fuel pipes , for what it cost mate you minght be aswell calling in at a motosave or kwikfit and letting them do it , it only takes a few minutes to do .
where theres muck theres money

cheers mate, you would be surprised how much they would charge for changing that. well the last scudo service cost £130 thats oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter, and fluids, im presuming that on its own would cost at least £20-£30 labour? which is fair enough we would charge the same wouldnt we.

i hate paying for things i know i could do myself with a bit of knowledge.

i changed the oil and filter last night. that was a nightmare, if anyone wants to try it, make sure you use one of those rubber strap wrenches, its such a tight space in there, you can only turn the filter an inch at a time. also the sump bolt can be undone with a large hex wrench, sorry cant remember what size i think 8 or 10 mm.

and the oil capacity was about 6 ltrs, so make sure you have the right amount

thanks for your advice, i thought i was right, but couldnt shift it with that rubber strap thing, and didnt want to break it, will try harder next time.
