Care homes, hotels and leisure clubs
« on: February 14, 2010, 10:35:29 pm »
How do you approch these? I have a few round my way and was thinking of giving them a knock but not sure if this is the right way to approach it, do you e-mail them first or is it just a case of knock and ask for the manager?

cheers ste

I too am about to do this, From what I have been told it is the Facilities Manager we need to be contacting.
Not sure on the best way, Maybe a letter directed to their post, followed by a call?

Lots of big companies head offices.

Im not too sure to be honest mate. Some area's seem to be really taken. But I have hit a few good estates really.

Have seen about 8 other regular and reconsable wc/little firms, but there must be more.
Sometimes have a crap time canvassing due to jobs being taken. But again still pick stuff up.

Where you from??

Liverpool mate, im about the only wfp in my area, i have pushed my round really hard the last few days and ive picked up some very nice jobs, its the first time ive done this and i found the no's hard at the start now i dont, i just thank thme for there time and move on, who's to say there only saying they have a wc just so they can get rid of you but afterwards they think you were nice, polite and very proffesional that they dont look at your leaflet and decide to give you a go.

I was hoping to get two new builds near me but when i got to them they had already gone to about the only other wfp guy near me, just sods law and as dissapointed as i was i soon forgot a bout it when i picked up a massive job the next day without even trying

manners cost nothing, i always say this to myself when i knock, if there rude then i still just says thanks for there time and bye.

I always am polite and come across well. Dont think there is any way you can try and build a business or expect to be treated well without manors.

Missed out on a care home last month, Left it too late. But there will be more.

Few people with Wfp around here now, But always see them on their ladders??

Ive got a feeling this year is going to be very good for me, if i do things right then i think i will grow to exactly how i want it, a few big contract would do nicely though, i got a nursery last week, inside and out as well every time, ;D

Ste.

What I would do if I were you is get some flyers/cards made up and then call in at each home and try to speak to the manager or even the caretaker and leave a card.

Any chance I could see your leaflets please Ste? Maybe email a copy? I have got my latest ones being delivered on Wednesday, A6 double sided 350gsm. Would send you a Pdf of that to have a look at?

5000 for canvassing, But going to order 20,000 when these are delivered if I can assure myself I will get a 0.5% return.

Are you delivering individually or in a bulk lot of leaflets and what sort of properties are you going with mate, All?

I do canvass any way. The leaflets where something to do in the days I dont have work, Which is too many considering how long I have been doing this.

8% is amazing. I am hoping for 0.5 minimum, But would be over the moon with 1%.

Going to get them out end of the week and weekend. Got three of us delivering them. And a fourth in the evening.

Misses is going to know and get some leads too.

mine may be just down to luck, i also think my appearance and mannarisms help though, i spent 20 minutes chatting to an old lady on saturday, she lived in a huge house and was asking me about how it all works, i gave her all the info but she never asked for a qoute, i just handed my leaflet to her and had a nice chat, i then wished her a good day and said it was nice to talk to her, i have a feeling she will call back ;D
