LEAVE IT THIS TIME........
« on: February 12, 2010, 07:37:04 am »
.......And i will.......also next time, the time after that.....infact, all the time. It annoys me to hell. I have bills to pay as well. Gonna get tough this year as i don't need customers like that. >:(

Ive adopted the "one strike and youre out" policy.... When i first started, people used to mess me about all the time , but any of the messers just get dropped now and replaced by a "nice" custie ;D

Its kind of satisfying telling the people that have messed you about in the past.."sorry im too busy"!!

easy one to deal with, just use them if you need to make your money up . I put them on my "do if I have time" List. it works both ways  If they say not this time after you have already made the journey,  they no longer have a place on the must clean list, if im too busy i leave them but always card them to say i was too busy with regular customers but i'll try to fit them in next time.

I have to agree with that im lucky as its only happened to me twice since September. I got really hung up about it. If it happens now i just will drop straight away otherwise when you turn up next month or phone to say you will be round they will probably do the same. If a customer is genuinely skint that month and is honest with you then that's a different matter.

Just text an every 2 monther asking her to leave gate open. "Not this time as weather is so bad" she says. She made an excuse 3 months ago to. So by my calculations, that,s 4 times a year. She can go whistle too. My bills don't just come in on sunny months. Bowlarks to 'er.

I've had a quite a few lately (well mainly when it was snowy), and they get the one chance.
I've got a few did it again and won't see me again.

But like Tom said, if I'm passing and got nothing to do at the end of the day...I may give them a try...

Squeaks, if these customers are repeat offenders, drop them when you get more work than you can handle.  Time wasters are worse than not having a customer at all in my opinion.  I have adopted the attitude that as long as I think I am providing the best service I can - which means sticking to our original terms and conditions - that if a customer doesn't like some aspect, such as our agreed frequency, I will drop them if I can't solve the problem with a friendly chat.

I like to keep work (and life) as stress free as possible.
Yeah I know. You're just telling me to do what I'm already doing!

so annoying! customers dont see the problems it can cause!

ive started to get harder on customers like that.

when i first started out i would just have to deal with it, now i dump them or charge more next time - so say for example - £10 a month house would be £12 next time as would take longer. Alot didnt like it so then i dumped them. Door step cancellations are a big no no! dumped!

always get worried when i get a new customers and they say i dont know what happend to my last wc!

will not take on any houses that are not done within 3 months - so always try to get them on a monthly or two monthly programme

I had a "Leave it this time" (it looked like it may rain) about 4 weeks ago. normally I would dump but it’s a £40 pound job plus the next doors can only be accessed from the rear in this customers garden so that’s another £10 and also I need the key from them to access their sons place which is another £15 job so all in all they cost me £65 last month.
I saw their son in the supermarket and told him I was thinking of dumping as I can’t be doing with the hassle, I turned up yesterday and was greeted with a pot of tea and freshly made jam tarts.  ;D
ok ok so I am easily bought, but in my defence it was apricot which is my favourite.   ;D

Sounds like a plan  ;) She WILL call me sooner or later. I'll just say that i'd better not do them just yet, as i hear it's gonna rain next month.  8)

With most of my work being really compact, and me usually at least a week late, it makes no difference, I just get on with the house next door.
I would take an entirely different view if I thought they were taking the mick.

"every other time then"  ::) Did the fronts then couldn't get throught the garage cos the berk wouldn't answer the front door. Arghhh!

Oh and I cleaned the wrong house yesterday. I'm not going to talk about that.

At least they know you were thinking of dumping, they now know they will be dumped if ur messed around. Ive been in this game over 20 years, all my custies know if i turn up they get cleaned. If they are having work done, ie replacement windows, painting or some building work, thats fine, see you next month. If it's not this time cause it might rain or they are not that bad, which dont happen cause they know i wont be back, they are dumped.

You weren't bought, they are keeping you happy, keep them wanting you as much as you want them
& then you will end up with a proper bunch of custies.  ;)

some people may just be struggling for cash sometimes it does happen. if people want me to miss out once or twice then so be it. No harm done really. Bigger and better things to get worked up about in life.

So you go out to do x ammount today, 2 say no thanks they aint that bad leave. Ok you say, do ur days work. Get home, x ammount are costs for the day, x ammount is house bills, the 2 that were not cleaned come out ur spending money cause the bills come 1st.

So the bills are paid ut ur spending money is cut, no thanks. Before you jump on me my custies dont say not this time, ive dropped them & some one that dont mind been short at the weekend has them.
