complaints...........some custys!
« on: February 09, 2010, 03:38:38 pm »
i very rarely get complaints about my work but theres these new custys down a very posh cul de sac in an affluent area.ive been cleaning all 5 houses for about 8 months now.

4 bedroom houses.(the last cleaner was charging £8/i charge £15 with frames/sills cleaned everytime.

they all came out to tell me what a great job i did of the windows 8 months ago.previously the windows hadnt been cleaned for 12 months and were mingin!

anyway there is one custy who another windy warned me about.he really fussy and moans if there is one drip of water left on a sill! ::)

he comes out this morning and starts saying my standards have dropped since the first clean and he been chatting to the neighbours about it!i said phone me up if u have an issue with the clean!anyway i think the general jist is they think im too expensive!upper middle class snobs some of these.

i always make sure his windows are spot on as i know how fussy he is.i want to dump him but i will lose the rest if i do that methinks! ::)

Either you will lose the lot or the rest will think do i really want to be without a cleaner again and whose to say the next guy wont charge £18.00

I would just be polite which im sure you were and to let him know that if he is not fully satisfied with your work to cancel i wouldnt break my back to keep him is this why the last cleaner went awol?

There is always someone who will moan, regardless of how good the clean is.

I had one who asked me if I had cleaned on my previous visit! Told him in no uncertain terms that I didn't work like that. He reckoned there were spots all over the windows. Now, either he was telling porkies, or something was done nearby that dirtied the windows again. I also made it quite clear that I would expect a phone call if something was wrong and not be accused of just putting a card through the door saying I had cleaned when I hadn't done so.  >:(
Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

Was going to mention the wfp change over but you already said it,

Why not approach the others in the road and see how they feel about your work etc, then when you see him next tell him that if he not happy with your work you suggest you part company on good terms, when he approachs the neighbours you would of already spoke to them so im sure they wouldnt cancel as theyve already told you there happy, Ive done this myself and the rest will stick  ;)

Went collecting last night:
"why have you cleaned them then!"
Yes I left a slip in the door.
"Well when did you clean them?"
This morning at eleven

Eventually one of the kids presented her with the slip and she grugingly paid up. Cow!

I got binned by a customer last night by text. The reason was because she phoned me on 23rd of December and asked if I could do the windows, off schedule,by Xmas day.Remember we had a lot of snow and ice at the time,so I politely said I wouldn't risk an accident and I would make her a priority after xmas. Her text last night said she has decided to give her business to somebody else cos that proved I wasn't reliable.Unreal.

I agree with Tosh, Dazmond. If the bloke's behaving like that to you, imagine what it must be like living next door to him :o. I can't claim to know all there is to know about window cleaning, but I know a little bit about human nature. He's not just going to pick on you whilst being perfectly pleasant to everyone else. And if some fussy neighbour told me who and who not to employ I would tell him in no uncertain terms to mind his own business. I'd drop him mate, save your blood pressure.  All the best

Yesterday at a £25 house the woman asks me to come indoors and look out at the state of her windows (georgian) "at all of the swirls that my brush leaves". I said that it was silicone from where she had had some new glass fitted and she still wasn't happy so she said she going to find a window cleaner who uses a ladder and if they are no different then she'll have me back!
Of course you will love, its been £25 for 6 years so if she does want me back and catches me in a good mood it'll be £35 from then on. Years ago i'd tolerate that sort of nonsence, now i'm happy to walk away.
