Got a call today from a custie in a posh area. ( that I would like to get into) Her boy had been sick on a 100% wool white carpet. She had thrown vanish at it to no avail, and wanted my advice. I told her it was probably f£$ked, but I would take a look. After stain pro etc, could I try red rx, since it was white could I try an oxidising agent, since the carpet is white anyway, and where could I get info in using oxidising/reducing agents? I have obviously not tried this method before.

Have you done anything to it yet? rinse is first and assess, what colour has it gone? bleaching IMO is the last step.

I did a vomit stain quite old too on a wool berber it came out with f and f rinse then cleaned the whole carpet muti pro and f and f rinse i would try f and f rinse first before trying anything more complicated,
 prochem guide  i have says
 "apply stain pro and extract, apply neutral pro spotter and blot, apply, f and f rinse and extract rinse thoroughly"

Agree with above good acidic rinse stick the air mover on it and hope it dosent take on that green apperance.

You could try a urine neutraliser instead seems to work better if a stain was present.

STOP and calm down
Everyone will have different methods of attack but first is to ask what the stomach contents would have been? Soft drink will be different to milk will be different to tomato soup will be different to 8 pints of guiness etc etc
Warn or cold water extract first and then see what you have left to deal with. I've had a few where that did it (followed by a sanitiser).

I have not seen the job yet. I was going to try the obvious, but since it had been hammered with vanish, that she admitted to, who knows what else has been thrown at it. I was thinking last resort stuff, bleaching probably be easier since the carpet was white, or am I wrong?

Don't assume cos it's white, bleaching won't show. ( It can brighten the stain ) It's like paint ie varying shades of white. I bet once you flush theres going to be a white ring from the vanish. Watch out for piling.
If it's been left neat I would doubt very much if you can remove it.
