My classic mistake.
Custy "do you clean gutters?"
Yes
"I've got a plant growing out of mine small terrace house how much do you charge?"
Easy peasy I thought - forty five minutes should do it with the vac.
Turned up and this "plant" was more like a twenty foot branch in the gutter with offshoots every six inches reaching for the sky. Just enough room to get your finger tips in.
Gutter vac totally, absolutely useless for this job.
Spent two hours gardening at the top of my ladders. Never going to quote over the phone again

9 times out of 10 only one side is full.
I did one the other week, they asked for them to be emptied. so i looked round, and said £40. Turns out there was only about 5 meters of guttering that was full... They asked for them to be emptied, so i assumed they were full?
I did one today, just a bungalow, but quite high for a bungalow [needed to use a 3m ladder extended a little bit] charged £30, 2 side about 10 meter run each. One side filled the bucket, the other side was practically empty.

Gutter cleaning can be a bit of a con really. Custy sees a tuft of grass at one end and reaches for the phone. Might be the only tuft in the whole gutter. They don't know that and they won't be up a ladder to check after you've left either.
Likewise it could be a mare like my last one.
