Logo Saga
« on: February 04, 2010, 10:43:34 pm »
Yes a bit of a saga, because i wanted to sharpen my image and do a bit of a rebrand i needed a logo. I asked first on the forums both here and on nats. There are a couple of sites but i ended up briefing a graphic astist and paying sixty pounds. My brief was quite tight with a word mock up, all she had to do was my name (not slumpbuster) and window cleaner tucked in. She was hopeless, one of the most clueless people i have ever dealt with (and that includes euan). So i wrote the sixty pounds off to experience.

Next one of my custies has about ten mobeus awards so i asked him.I lost my temper with him because he took too long, but then made it up and got what i wanted for the price of a free clean. Thus my new scudo maxi is now signed up and people are now running across the street to beg me for quotes.

Where i could do with a bit of help is, the orginal logo is a vector file. He has also sent me this in jpeg form in three resolutions. One is to go on the bottom of my emails, and onto my invoice in wcp pro.

So how do i do it? Put it on the bottome of my email and put it on my invoice in wcp that is?

Dave's is pretty tight for commercial, this is domestic turbo charged and on steroids.

To be honest, I'm not really suprised you didnt get what you wanted for that.  A decent logo should cost more like £400-£600.

Ive seen some good examples on here, matt bateman seems quite clever at imagery. I'm not good at this.

The guy who did the work has lots of mobeus statues, the ad industries oscars, and specialises in labels for bottles and has lots of household name accounts.Money wasn't an issue either for him or me.

So does anyone know how to put it on emails and into wcpro invoices?

Load wcp and go to Tools. From the list select 'Document Settings' At the bottom of that window you will see 'Logos' Click on it and the rest is self explanitory

I'm guessing that you might need bigger machines for bigger writing. My logo is text only and some words are in blue, some are in a sort of red.

Looking at my van the biggest letters are about 15" high.

start a NEW MESSAGE. Go to OPTIONS. Click E MAIL SIGNATURE. Name your signature then add your logo pic and message. At the bottom, select your signature for new messages and replies. You can also change the background by using the STATIONARY tab.

This is in OUTLOOK.

okay, when i've done the email bit. I expect you are curious to see the logo. I never said it was anything special.

A couple of comments from dazmond and daniel have me down as a right big head sw***ing about on the forum.Well they are partly right. I often air what is on my mind on here.I wanted a hot system once, drew a blank, and had to invent one. Many have got one now, but there had to be a first, and that was me.Pretty much a similar story with the electric reel rewind.I like my van to be as advanced as possible and if a machine can do the work instead of me, i let it.As for the  marketing innovation, it didn't just fall into my lap, or happen by accident, i've sweated it out for nearly three yeqrs.

Why did you have to invent a hot system?

Why? there is no need. You are cleaning windows not really selling a product.
No need for hot, no need for electric reels, no need for a brand new van etc etc. Don't even need a website.
Why make life complicated?

Maybe i've just been lucky.
