« on: February 04, 2010, 08:14:42 pm »
After a hard day today and the missus gone to work this eve, cleared up the tea things and done the washing up only to find when took the plug out it was blocked >:(

after some swearing and lots of plunging....nothing

started emptying under sink to take apart trap etc when had a brainwave ;)

so fired up the trucky and sucked out the water from sink and drainer, shoved pipe over plughole and hey presto sink now clear and draining lovely ;D

filter cleaned out of foody bits....job sorted!

maybe another string to our bows in the slow months ::)

I`ve unblocked the shower plug hole with a portie. I`ve also tripped my electricity with the portie.

Isn't it a bit of a pain having to fire up the 427 and connect a vac hose to your laptop everytime you want to use it?

There again, it must be the coolest laptop around ;)

Safe and happy surfing :)

I am going to use mine to suck the engine oil from my boat engine next week and do an oil change. That should raise an eyebrow or two amongst the local yachties.

Nevil, is that such a good idea, oil sprayed all through the inside of your pipework, etc

No Ian I am going to use a catch pot and a short length of old hose to keep the oil away from the hoses and waste tank.

i used mine to suck a pull cord through 50 meters of underground ducting . the choice was -dig a new trench in a rd or get a pull cord through.  i ended up linking 2 truckmounts vai a y splitter and fed in a fishing line with some plastic tied to it.  one truck wouldn't do it but as soon as number 2 was joined it fired through! saved a fortune. which i then spent down the pub celebrating!

Made me smile, brought back memories :)

I remember when i did groundworking we had the same problem, we'd let the cord slip back inside the ducting.  We were all resigned to digging up about 250m of trench when the old digger driver wandered up with a plastic carrier bag.  He pulled the cord back out of the duct, tied the bag to the end and then used the jackhammer's air compressor to blow it through! Couldn't believe it!

I had couple more attempts at using it then decided either I'm not up to using a advanced piece of kit like that or it was a totally useless piece of junk that really didn't ever warrant being made.  I may have got it wrong but decided the thing had to go to the scrapyard a couple of months after I met you. I really don't think you missed out on anything useful.

I guess you are talking about the school contract you have. I would try an RX  Jamie. Doesn't seem to be much they won't cope with.

I fitted a hose to the exhaust of my Ninja and used it to blow all the leaves off the flower borders in the garden!
