If you consider for a moment that the foam has a water content of only 10% - 15% rather than hwe's 100% water, you should realise that the drying time is low especially if powerful extraction is used. Being low foaming products they dont expand the way Vanish, etc does when we run over with HWE.

Although it looks messy in the photo it's a low foaming product and easily dispersed.

Most of the water content will evaporate quickly, anything remaining chrystalises  and being non sticky does not resoil quickly, in fact some have a re soiling inhibitor.

Like I said................I love it on upholstery

Robert What product do you use? How much dwell time? How do you foam up the soltion?

The problem isn't the water content but the crystalising in the machine from splashes and causes the cogs etc to clog up.

Having used a V S MACHINE which not only cleans but extracts the foam without problems and having also used other machines to extract, chrystalising has been much less of an issue than build up of powder residues from other products in HWE machines. Even microsplitters have a build up if machines are not cleaned regularly.

A point worth considering is the amount of product used when cleaning, I think there are probably many who add far more chemical than they actually need whether in prespray or in the tank. Just a thought

I've used the V S Product, the Cimex product plus a few others but find a product from Yorkshire to be as good if not better than most and at around £7 for 5 ltrs excellent value.

I use the same product Robert uses after he put me on to it.I have used it mostly on office chairs and they have came up a treat. I also used it on carpet tiles in a office hallway with a cotton bonnet to see what it was like  and was amazed at the results.

Carpets cleaned by shampoo (most of which have always been, Crystallizing) will re-soil quickly if the crystals are not thoroughly vacuumed out of the carpet when dry. The crystals contain the soil, and gets released in a short time as the crystals break down. Mike has however already vacuumed most of the foam and soil away and as the last foam layer was applied onto  a cleaner carpet the captured soil would be less in any case, so re-soiling may not be an issue.
My first carpet cleaning machine nearly 30 years ago was a Von Shrader Carpet Deterger. The vacuum system was a waste of time, as it only collected a minute amount of black slurry, when doing a full lounge. The vacuum orifice was far too wide for a small single vac motor and although the carpets looked markedly better afterward s (Thats what shampoo's do with their abundance of optical brighteners) they did re-soil quickly.

The resoiling issue is posted regularly but I've used the Chemblend product on several regular clients furniture for up to five years and the re soiling has been LESS than with water extraction cleaning.

NOT what I expected when I started using it but I've been very happy with the results.

Buy it and try it.

Shampoo's will have improved over the last 30 years, but they still leave too much residue in the carpet for my liking. Of course there will always be a place for shampooing, but in my mind, less is best, when it comes to leaving any residue in a carpet.
