How many of you use a payments page on your website? How dose it work for you? Over the last few days customers have been asking about paying on line rather than cash or cheques. I was thinking BACS or pay pal direct in to my business account. Regards Steve.

I have paypal on mine. Not many use it, but it is steadily becoming more popular. There are paypal fees, but they're more than worth it IMO.

At the moment I use bank transfer, standing orders have gained about 60 who pay this way

I am looking into this so is interesting,

Paypal charges are quite high but the more you get in the lesser the charge, the main point in the money is in quicker I guess so swings and roundabouts.

Anyone know if you can get an account anywhere so you can cut out paypal ect, so they pay direct into your account,

I am going for card payments in person and over the phone shortly as cheques are fast becoming a pain in the backside to process and bank.

Online banking is the way to go. More and more people are doing it so it makes payments easy for you without incurring any charges.

I thought about the card payment, but the time you will spend standing at the door waiting to connect the machine and customer putting in details etc for payment plus the monthly rental and charges i don't really see where it's going to save that much time, hassle or be any cheaper then dealing with cheques. For me direct bank transfer is the way to go and thats what needs drumming into my customers head.

Will be good to see how you get on with card payments tho, i only see it worth it for larger amounts not for £10 - £15 houses which will be the general payment..

Hiya guys

I'd rather loose a couple pence....
Just 1 thing tho mate,i use to transfere my funds to my bank account, until i found out they also charge you :o

Interesting point about the costs of Paypal.

I have someone cleaning my windows - don't ask why.

When he collects from us, he NEVER has change on him, so he wanders back to his car (sometimes 50 yards or so) to get it.  If he doesn't catch us in when he's cleaned, he comes back in the evening.  I suspect he's typically maybe four minutes getting our cash even assuming no trip back in the evening.  He's earning at around £60 an hour (two guys trad), so that four minutes is four quid.  It'd be much cheaper to pay a PayPal fee.

Just a thought.

PW.

Why?

Take a look at the payments page on my website >> http://www.southerncleaningservices.co.uk/payments

Most of my customers now pay by bank transfer... A few use the credit \ debit card facility which is via Nochex - People don't need to know about Nochex or have a Nochex account in order to pay me this way.
