asap help on diy pipe carrier for small van

trying to make one from waste/soil pipe.

anyone done this? and best place for bits?

how do you keep the brush on and have a screw on cap

  I just have a piece of black drainpipe on the roof rack, both ends open and a bungee strap to hold the pole in when needed. The pipe is cable tied onto the roof rack bars.

i dont have 1

BUT all the plumbers i have ever known have used Grey waste / soil pipe with end caps on ( they even make a end cap with a padlock on )

then just use waste / soil pipe fixing clips to fix it to the roof rack, then just put a self tapper though the pipe and the bracket

ive done that but prob is the access caps have a narrow neck and the pole wont fit through it!
pole wont fit in my van. too long.
