Hi

Only had my spitfire a couple of weeks and going to de-scale it. No problem with scale build up but thought would do it any ways.

Bit confused read the manual but still little puzzled

can anyone talk me throught he steps would be apreciated.

Empty your mix tank,
make up a solution of 50/50 descaler/water & pour in mix tank,
connect a short hose from solution outlet to mix tank,
start up machine with pump on so it's circulating back to mix tank,
when it's hot switch TM off and remove orifice,
restart it after about 30 minutes to re - circulate and leave for another 30 mins,
finally run it around once more then drain mix tank,
refit oricice making sure the screen is clean,
refill with fresh water and pump it around, do this a couple of times to make sure all de-scalers is out.

Same as Glynn though a different machine, I also connect all solutions hoses and wands too give them a rinse.

thanks for that glynn only bit i dont get is what is the orifice  sorry to sound dumb its a big learning curve for me like starting again

also richard when glynn says take the orifice out remember to screw the large nut  back on before you start the machine or you will empty it of water in around 1 minute!!!

I wouldn't connect all the sol lines and tools as your likely to block up the jets with loosened scale.

glynn, i sometimes flush out all of my sol hoses connected together but i take out the last male or female connector so that the water has a straight run through, like you, i wouldn't flush it through the tools though,

Don't have a truck mount but do rinse solution hoses, rather than remove the last connector get a suitable male/female Q/C added to an open ended piece of hose, less messing about.

Glynn right you will block jets if you leave them in. I must get round to putting a inline filter on cfr hand tool

Glynn has described how to de-scale very well.  Regarding the short hose from your solution outlet to your mix tank.....instead of making a hose to do this you could simply attach a pressure hose to your machine but take off the brass quick release fitting at the other end and put this into the mix tank.  The orrifice on the Spitfire 3.2 is located on the right hand side of the machine. You will see a 'Y' piece with a 19mm i think it is nut on it.  look abit further back & you will see a section that can be undone with spanners, once undone look inside & you will see the orrifice that requires a allen key to remove. Remove the orrifice and put the rest back together then continue as glynn has suggested.  The 'Y' piece that i mentioned behind the 19mm nut is the filter strainer. This will need checking / cleaning once de-scaling has been completed.  Its best to check this filter on a weekly basis.

If you have the Spitefire 3.2 manual.....turn to section 5, page 5-3 and have a look at figure 5-1 Water flow diagram.  You will see at the top of the diagram the hot water outlet, follow that line to the left & you will see the filter strainer 'Y' piece then a little further to the left again is where the orrifice is located.

Hope this helps.  I know when reading it may sound abit of a ball ache or even abit complicated but when you actually do the de-scale procedure you will realise its really quite simple.
