Karl your welcome to copy and paste the one I give all my customers before I carry out a cleaning service.

Dear customer

On the off chance I f**k up your carpets today I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance, I swear I didn't f**k them up on purpose.

If you require a carpet cleaning service in the future I'll be more experienced and much less likely to f**k up your carpets so please bear me in mind.

Please don't be alamed or put off by this statement it's simply a legal requirement. There's a 50/50 chance your carpets are going to be fine.

Kind Regards etc etc.....

Paul

Not sure what you mean by "if something goes wrong" but I have something in the small print on the bottom of my survey form, if they decide to go ahead they sign there life away. ;D

Basically reads something like, cannot gaurantee the removal of all stains although every effort will be made to do so, all valuable & delicate items should be removed prior to cleaning, any furniture damaged whilst moving, unless caused by neglect is the responsibility of the customer, please sign to say your happy for us to carry out the cleaning.

You don't really need a disclaimer as such. What you need is a report of faults to be noted during the pre-clean inspection. I will write on my survey form something like "Pre-cleaning inspection has revealed bleached staining to lounge carpet......." I will then request the householder to acknowledge this with their signiture.

If you are to carry out any"dangerous" procedures that could potentially damage the item(s), then include this and the risks involved, permission given without liability on your part, on the survey form and then a signiture.

This is not a get out clause for poor workmanship eg cellulosic browning from poor drying or incorrect chemistry.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

Thanks ken

that is what i was basically after

we used to use on of the joe polish carpet audits

but i think it was a bit long winded

basically i am not trying to cover cleaning errors

just hi-light all the current problems with the carpet / furnishings

there are situations where we take on a stain  problem and that now becomes our problem especially if the stain changes colour or if we have to use

a reducer or bleaching agent it affects the base dyes etc

so yeah in short a good survey form not a waiver of responsibility sorry
