Was out today and went to about 3 areas to canvass only to find a wc cleaning down the street. I went down some streets away from him. no new custys today. On woulds & up woulds tomorrow. What do some of you guys do?  Leave the area? Go afew streets away from him? hopefully he might only do a few streets etc

  I had some cheeky sod knock the door of a house I was cleaning today - the customer told him to come and see me if he dare!!

I think if I was out canvassing and saw another window cleaner working in the street I was attempting to canvas I would scoot off and continue canvassing on a different street.
Though I would certainly go back on another day to continue canvassing that street, I wouldn't be trying to take his work, but it isn't likely he'd have every house in the street anyway.

God but I'm glad those days of having to go out and canvas are long gone....

You should have spoken to him.
Within a second or two you would have known if he was approachable or not.
He may have had a few he wanted too offload and perhaps told you which ones not to canvass!
He may of offered to train you up a bit!

when iv been out and seen a w/c in a street iv allways spoke 2 them and asked do u do many in this street or area and then u know.iv only had 1 blank me that was the other day i was cleaning on 1 side off the street and him on the other.iv only got a few in that area but he had loads.mardy git
