dropped a tax clanger
« on: January 24, 2010, 10:44:39 am »
I have just realised that I should have claimed for more expense items on the 08/09 tax return.
I bought my SL2 iN March, and I thought I had bought it in the new April tax year.
Can You claim something on your 09/10 return, that should have been included on your 08/09 one?

If you were classing it as a capital item, I believe you can hold fire as long as you wish.  My accountant held back from declaring my van for a year because it would have left me with a minus tax liability and would have been partly wasted.  So he started offsetting it the following year.
