I had algae in my storage tank. The best thing to remove it is Milton fluid.
I'm not sure about an RO, flush it through maybe, and in future protect it from sunlight

I am sure I read on here it will kill the membrane.

I would remove pre-filters, membrane and di resin, fill with a solution of Milton fluid and then flush the ro with plenty of fresh water. Then just put new pre filters in, replace the membrane and resin and everything should be fine.

When it isn't being used, keep it covered with something that won't let the light through.
Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

Cut out the light - if you've got problems in this temperature then you'll be breeding all sorts of bacteria come the summer. I have boarded the windows in my garage and covered my van tank to stop algae growing.
