I think that the main problem is the lack of information and the seeming reluctance by the organisers to release details.

Please do not get me wrong, I am neither for nor against the new organisation.  How could I be when I know nothing about it?

I cannot express an interest in something I know nothing about.  If the organisers would be willing to share some information then they may well get a better reception.

Secrecy breeds doubt, cynicism and prompts people to draw their own conclusions.

Come on guys, let us know what it is we have to look forward to, maybe then, you would get the doubters on side too.

Having said the above, I wish the guys all the best for the launch of CLEAN and I will watch with interest.

It's nothing to do with reluctance to release details. We have set a launch date, by which time all the legal ramifications will be in place as well as training programmes, marketing strategies etc.

There is no benefit to releasing details on a piecemeal basis.

We have probably said far more than we wanted to say at this stage on this thread alone.

I understand that there is a launch date to be stuck to, but how can you reasonably expect people to be interested in something they know nothing about?

You have to expect a certain amount of cynicism and doubt about the association when you are expecting people to 'just take your word for it' and offer no information.

I sent a message to one of the organisers back in September after I was asked to consider joining and I have yet to receive a reply... like I said, a lack of information is the problem here.
If you didn't want questions then you should have kept it all quiet until the launch.

I know that you was answering Tony Gill, but please, now it looks like that you and all the others involved are creating an association out of the goodness of your own hearts with no gain except to highlight carpet cleaning as a service. Now come on not even you believe that. The bush i was born under died a long time ago and there HAS TO BE an angle or you wouldnt be doing it. So whats the angle??

If you were not in a position to answer questions ( i mean as a group) then you should have all kept quite until the launch date, the fact that you have all managed it in this way does show a little nievity, no, unprofessionalism in your approach. Maybe i am being a little unfair but you have made some of us very sceptical already due to the lack of information available.

That is not the way to build a foundation to a successful venture, surely open information, free talking would have been the best way.

No one likes cloakes and daggers!

What angle do think there is ? Honestly, would you prefer if I said that I was going to earn thousands of pounds out of this venture, I expect a degree of cynicism but some of the posts on this topic are getting a bit bizarre.

Believe me we could all have earnt a lot more money if we had spent the time developing our own businesses rather than spending it on setting up CLEAN.

Nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head, when it is launched in April you can all make your own minds up and be a part of it, or not. In the same way cleaners choose to be a part of NCCA or not.

There is nothing more that I, or anyone else can say at this time that will stop the questions, negativity or cynicism. Equally I am sure that when it is launched there will be even more of the same, thats simply human nature.

I'm in business to make money Tony, same as you and everyone else in this industry and if the formation of this association helps us all to achieve that end then surely that is a good thing.

If there was something underhand going on, then we could have just formed a little syndicate, got some contracts, done them ourselves and sod everyone else.

Feel free to respond, but I'm going to bed.

No offence.

Good night

All my love, sweet dreams, blah blah blah

( no answers forthcoming, so we can at present draw our own conclusions, but what Steve said is right we are all in business to make money)

I think it is reasonable to expect the guys who will be holding posts within the association to earn some kind of payment for their time etc.

It will be interesting to see if it is more than just a glorified directory of carpet cleaners who have paid to be recommended, also to see how the allocation of work is done... the NCCA claim to have a rotating list for enquiries in different geographical areas but we all know that is not the case... will this be the same.

This is of course pure speculation as I don't have the facts.

yes a little more info would be good, even just  what the aims of this new venture was. And how this was going to be achieved. Just an overview would do!

Well theres definatly plenty of interest, the word is spreading  :)

Steve is right and I am guilty of saying more than I should have done without getting agreement from the rest of the group.

I am not going to say this again.

The purpose of this post was to get details of people to list on the clean website so that when meetings with potential contracts take place (as they have already) and some media (FREE) opportunities occur we can create more credibility and that is it.

Read the whole thread before posting and you will probably find that you won't post at all

If "you" didnt want the web site to be seen until full launch there are ways and means of doing that - and thats with my VERY limited knowledge of web sites.
