Peg Weedon - Anyone heard of it?
« on: January 19, 2010, 05:45:28 pm »
Job today, dark blue wool rich bedroom carpet where customer had a guest stay over and vomited curry over it.  :-X
She cleaned it up as best as she could with what she said was just water & washing up liquid but a large yellow stain remained.
Told her was happy to try but maybe permanent, which she was happy with.
Tried everything I had but did not even lighten it.
So I advised her to get onto her insurance company and let me know how she gets on.

She told them she had got me out to try but they told her they will send their own company out anyway at the end of the month, when its completely dried in  ;D

Anyway they asked her if she had tried Peg Weedon as its good for curry stains  ???

Spelling unsure of but I did ask her twice.
Quick google search brought nothing up, anyone heard of it???

The PEG bit possibly is Polyethylene glycol - the weedon bit I am not sure. But "PEGs" are used in Non-ionic Surfacants - I think that perhaps your customer mis heard the name of the product?

Sorry I cannot be more help

Its shaving foam. - that has what nick says. - not all shaving foam has it.

An old wives tail. Their are plenty of things that work, just not patented or have been tested in a lab.

If anyone wants to differ, I would be intersted to hear.

Hi Guys

It will be PEG ether, polyethylene glycol ether.

I used this as one of the ingredients in a urine neutraliser I developed soeme years ago now.

Cheers

How successful was it Doug?

Do you still use it? If not, why not?

Got some out in the past too Dave.
But this one was a yellow stain left after her efforts of cleaning. Almost like the Tumeric or colouring had dyed the fibres.
She also said it hapened this weekend just gone but it seemed older to me.
