I have already taken the punt mate, ordered tonight

Just wondered because there are these liquid drops and also kits that use tablets.  I think the drops are better by all accounts, have had some info elsewhere about it

I use the drops as recommended by the fish people, they tell me the readings are more accurate..... I just nod and agree

I use deionised water for carpet cleaning personally,.. the softness makes a noticeable difference imo.

No, because a TDS meter does not measure the actual hardness of water, it just tells you the amount of disolved solids in the water. You could have really soft water that could give a reading of 600 because of all the other bits in it.

Most places that deal in water production/ purifycation will have a water hardness test kit.
