Again,,, not knowing how your heating system works...but, yes if a HX is burst (even if a tiny hole) it will affect the heat of the water because more wter is been pumped through the HX from the pump than normal.  Is the water coming out of the exhaust constantly?

The thermostat was what i was indicating when i asked if the waste tank is getting more water in than normal.  I assume that when the water is heated to a certain temp it then bypasses into the waste tank allowing cold water to enter the machine to cool the water down.

yeah quite poss have a look to see if you got elec cable going to the side of the header tank if so just try it un clip it it removes the safety device allowing the water to get bloody hot and wont dump in waste tank if so u may have same prob as me but oppisit if your with me if not does sound like therm stat nothing to panic about am sure

OK, it sounds like it may well be the thermostat then.  As fresh said....unclip the wire so you are bypassing the safety to allow the water to keep getting hotter & hotter.  You did however say that you have noticed more than normal water coming from the exhaust.  Is this water constant or does it stop after a few minutes after you have started the machine?

Hi Ady

i had similar problem  with my 20

inside header tank put yer hand way down to the bottom there shoud be

a nut undo inside you will find a filter and a brass spray tip check to see how large

the hole is in the spray tip , use a spray tip with a smaller orrice, as they are brass

they do wear out and the hole gets to big which means that the water becomes luke warm.

other than that could be thermostat packed up.

but  check that tip and the hole in the end (orrifice)

Hi Ady

Also where the fan jet is located there is a small filter just like you find on a wand, it may be an idea to check if that is clean.

I also had the same problem on my Promount 25 and it was the thermostat .

Dave Ingram is the one to speak to if you cant resolve it.

Hi Ady

Just had my apex diesel repaired, EXACTLY the same issue. If you are getting water out of the exhaust you have a heater exchanger gone defo. Weirdly  my PSI is showing 500psi but I think it is a seperate issue (replacement gauge time). On my Apex it has cost about £700.00 which included checking the other two exchangers (dont know how many you have on a promount?), cleaning the system through and some other bits I wanted sorting. You will probably find that the cold weather opened up a hole in the exchanger you had pre snow days.
Regards
Tim

evening boys ,right then ,here goes ,this morning started  the T/M. and switched off . The header tank had overflowed, and what I thought was water coming out of one of the exhausts was when I looked just the water from the header tk running down the pipe ,think i can rule out damage to the heat exchangers?
Dan on the left hand of the header tk at the bottom we noticed a wire with a connector had popped out and pushed it back in  , we ran the machine again, temp gauge working and hot water but same thing when switched off   ,header tk overflow ,any ideas boys and by the way many thanks for the replies ive had .   ady
