He said he'd had enough of us and then he was gone, shame really.

He said he was addicted

I said I had been trying to break my addiction and do not post as much as I used to and said he could do same and concentrate more on marketing etc

I did not mean for him to stop posting altogether.

Sometimes people leave a post elsewere

My addiction appears to be returning think I need to go back to clinic

I found him very rude to be honest, just my opinion.

Derek

is a genuine guy and helped me out a few times he is very dedicated to his new business. Yes he has a cheeky way about him but why not i like it cause he says it how it is.

I found Dereks post funny, witty, to the point.

Its a shame he has gone. Many people seem to be leaving. But are they going else where?

Most forums are the same in the end. You do eventually get bored, fed up as some just spoil it for others.

Some just answer replies and the answer has no relevance or the reply was not really required or was just plain silly. You get a post asking a question then the reply is ether:

Get training! - I find that reply irritating. I have had training.
Have you done a search on the forum? - or the question will be asked again by someone else later and get a decent reply.
Then you get the battle between Portie and TMs. Your not profesional until you have a TM.
The wages/salaries war - No work one minute/ over loaded the next. Ive made millions, or im skint.
More carpet cleaners arriving stealing our business. Blah blah
Then you get the groups. The in groups. Then the outcasts.  - I consider myself an outcast.

But even still I like the forum very much.

The list goes on....

I am sure some just answer or post just for the sake of "Gaining post" or get to Cleanitup God status and just keep posting!

I love this forum, in fact it’s the only cleaning site I  go on. First thing in the morning, after reading my mail next stop cleanitup .
New topics, more information, what’s for sale, and the occasional argument between members.
To be able to agree and disagree with peoples points of view, is refreshing and can make arguments  more interesting  and whoever puts their views  forward  should expect  positive and negative replies , without  feeling they are worthy or unworthy of being a respected member.
That way more people will join without feeling inadequate and this site will continue to grow.
Steve.

So whts so good about been a ciu god ?

personaly, i thinyour talking a load of bunkem Dave, Yes I agree some reply,s  do tend to be repeatative , usualy to the same repeatative questions though!!!

however, many questions are answered by experienced c/c in an effort to guide the posters in the right direction, wether it be marketing, techniques, equipment, chemicals and all other matters, yes you are always going to get some negative rsponse to questions , but that is life , i,m afraid.

I feel ciu is a good forum, and has been of great benifit to me especially in my earlier days as a c/c and i hope that i could do the same for others

All forums carry the same catogry of posters:
*Experienced
*Inexperienced
*Clueless
*Dangerous
*Wind up merchants

Whilst it is easy to put anyone into one of those catogries, what you can't tell is how someone is writing. This can then be taken as abusive, non helpful etc particulary when you are trying to keep an answer short. So whilst one person might know that the question and answer can be found a few pages back someone else will write out the full answer again. For example on the window cleaning forum almost once a week someone will start a new topic with the heading what is the correct way to price. For flip sake you only have to scroll back no more than 10 pages to see that question asked at least 3 times, but some people will happily answer it in full all over again. So for experienced posters it is easy to just say have a look for yourself. Some will take the advice and find it within minutes whilst someone will come out with "I was only asking what's your problem."

BTW I'd love to know if I'm in any 'sub group' because as far as I'm aware I'm not, although there are some on here who are friendlier than others and will take the time to speak on the phone about issues.

i have learnt over the years to take all posters with a pinch of salt. many a time people have posted on every subject that comes up with great authority and then we find out that they are just part time cleaners and can't decide if they should give up their day job and go full time cleaning or not. beggars belief.
that said, for me derek is sorely missed, a character and i always thought VERY enthusiastic and refreshing

Im puzzled again

Stevie Wonder  said he loved CIU and then becomes a guest ::) ::)hing sides

I do plead guilty to sometimes telling people to search Forums personally I find you can learn a lot.

Regarding  great Truckmount debate often you find people switch  when they get one.
