We have just quoted on a council contract that will involve some cradle access.
Who provides the training for this?

Anyone done a course and any idea of the costs?

contact  the company that service crane they are the ones that will train you only aday on the crane

Not trying to be clever but wouldn't it have made more sense to find out the costs involved before offering your quote ........ just a thought

This should be arranged by the duty holder (prob council) and you should be able to get them to pay for at least 2 people training, remember they have a duty to provide you with a safe place to work, safe equipment and sufficient training.

The training will be given by the cradle maintenance company

i passed my IPAF 3a + 3b today its straight forward if you got your head screwed on

I used to clean Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, next to St James Park, the only training me and my mate got was.........................

1. Motor on each side, count to 3 then move up or down

2. Attach your harness on the cradle.

That was it, say a prayer and your off!!!!!!!!

Mind you that was the eighties, health and safety was unheard of.

lol i very safety consious so the theory was straight forward. before the class i had a mock test i had 5 wrong.  after i had a classroom presintation i had 100%

i know people where things go through one ear and out the other, id imagine what would happen there.

the practical would only be hard if you had 10 pints

alltho on the boom theres about 10 controls takes time to find the right controls
