They actually use Prochem Cheyenne portables, prochem chems ,and get trained in house , and at Prochem run courses,, the cowboy part is that once in the customers house they bump the price up.

I'm quite sure I don't need to spell out the rules on being self employed and getting all your work from one source.
It sounds like this lot are cheating the system on employment with PAYE, NI and insurances.

Jason,

regarding Enterprise, they have now got 20 vans on the road and what i have been told by a local supplier is that when they have saturated this area they are then going further down the coast, eastwards.

If someone, stupid enough, to have that clean for £8.99 all they do is wet vac with cold water , no chems at all.

My son knows one of their ex operators and when he was training, 3 days :o, one of their operators uses cold water to soilproof, says it all realy.

Daryl

Had a chap call me in december in southampton had paid £8.99 for lounge about 16sqm

This is what he said : Sorry to bother you i have had my carpet cleaned yesterday and it is still wet dont worry it wasnt you. how long does it normally take to dry only the company i used said they would get back to me after speaking to a member of there staff, and they havent

I explained  depends on the type of carpet time of year ect ect but in general around 4 to 6 hrs
The chap was less than a mile away from me and said he was keen to have his hall stairs and landing done but a bit put off now.

I arranged to pop in on the way home went in and yes 24hrs later they were a bit on the damp side
got some kitchen roll out the van and pressed down on the area in front of the settee and the paper was filthy so yes i beleive they must only use water no chems.

LEFT HIM WITH THE SNAIL TO DRY  OUT CHARGED HIM £130 FOR THAT DINING ROOM HALL STAIRS LANDING DOING HIS MOTHERS ON THE 21/1 HAPPY NEW YEAR.

There also recruiting  'cleaners' in Cardiff, Reading & Swindon areas,

amazingly they don't even inform customer of extra charges at start of job but bump the price up at the end when filling out the paper work,

thankyou madam that will be a £100 please,   customer,  but its only £8.99, for 1 room?    Ah sorry its taken longer than we thought & you had alot of marks to remove, also my colleague spilt some defoamer on your carpet & we had to clean that up to?????

Unbelievable story but unfortunately true, this came directly from a customer.

they usually work in two's as its more intimidating for the customer, so they usually get paid ( the once)  . Thats why they have to keep moving to different areas.

Going back to the van rentals, so the  'cleaners' pay £400 per month for a vehicle which you can lease for £160 per month, from vans direct etc?

£400 times 20 vans = £8k a mth van rental,  this leaves a difference of £240 # 20
=£4800 # 12 = £57'600   company turnover on van rentals a year?
Plus a 100% profit on machine hire & 50% mark up on chemicals that are used??

So is this a rental company or a cleaning company??

Apparently there longest serving operator has been there 14wks, and they have a huge turnover of staff.

The one thing you people are missing is that anybody who think that they should have a room cleaned for £8 are not the customers that you want in the first place. Very often you get what you pay for.

Go and quote and then the cheap guys wont get a look in.
