what is the best way to create awareness of your business, to make it stand out from the crowd,  what do you do, to help generate more work, besides knocking

I make a pass at all my new female custards, they tend to remember me that way and also I think I probably get a mention when they're talking to their friends, instant recognition.

I remember suggesting this to Tosh, but he just made passes at their husbands instead.

Daz, i would say the likes of a full sign written van, this way if people see your van then they know you mean business, your not just some fly by night chancer who is out to make a quick buck. I also think workwear is important as its all about creating the right impression. this is all in my opinion ok

I don't mind saying this because I'm not from where I live, not born and bred!! and they are all inbred round here.

When I first started there was a window cleaner in my local town - Cheadle who dressed as a woman. He had most of the high street sown up - could never get a look in. Still see him every now and then with his hair all curled and nail polish and one of those long trench coats for women.

Thats how you get noticed!!

Hey!  >:(

Just because I'm in touch with my feminine side and like to wear lady's clothing, does not mean I bat the same side as Squeaky does.

I cant seem to make my business any more aware in customers minds, i dont even seem to get referrals of my existing customers either which is annoying, then i have people who look and look at me cleaning yet say nothing when i just know they want to ask me to clean theirs.  Im also getting sick to death with people who cry out for a window cleaner to come and be regular and when they see i am regular they dont seem to like it, this is a good business to be in but again it gets up my goat when customers seem to pick and choose when they want you to clean, they cant be open and honest with you either, rant over lads :)
