Just called into my local Aldi store and noticed that they have the following deals coming up this week that might be of interest.

Oil filled radiator with timer etc £35
Electric fan heater  £10.99
Kingsize duvet £11 ( covering your tank )
2kg of dishwasher salt ( ideal for paths etc ) 69 pence

I would check before you go as i reckon some of these items will sell quick.

Thanks for the tipoff Dennis. Looks like some good deals there.

Unfortunately my nearest store requires a 200 mile round trip, plus 6 hours on a ferry (3 hours both ways)!     Internet shopping is alot easier for that kind of stuff for me, and quite often it's here next day. 

The temperature has risen to 0 degrees today and we haven't had snow for a couple of days. The council ran out of salt 2 days ago with another delivery due here on Monday. Hopefully we're near the end of the cold spell.
