Went to visit a client today, and he asked me to clean a White Silk Sofa. Its a stunner!
He has had people look at it before, but nobody fancied a crack at it.
Not sure of best way to clean it.Any advice would be great.
Cheers Chris

Dry clean. Wouldn't touch it myself as i have had bad experiences with silk settees before , long story. Saying this I am not very happy with results from dry cleaning .

No disrespect Chris - but taking into account your level of experience I think this would be a job too far for you at this stage.
I have just won a job to clean 3 upright chairs with silk seats and backs. I'm going to take them off site and clean them with dry mineral solvent, but you have to wet out each panel and dry them with a hair dryer to avoid water-marking.
I would be very wary of taking on a silk sofa and I certainly would be looking at serious money to clean it.
Maybe you could team up with a more experienced local carpet cleaner, so you can see first hand how to do it. This would be a good learning curve and you wouldn't end up owning it.

Precisely - if it is silk it would have cost a fortune !

Did a job today, would have done it for free as I'm fed up with staying in, I can drive on bus routes but customers houses aren't on them.
Still getting a few calls though, apparently it's going to be bad again Sunday and Monday.

Sorry to throw in another problem - what filling does it have? My experience suggests that there is a high chance of horse hair, feather or down and all these present their own issues. Best of luck if you take it on.
