Had an MD21 Nissan pickup for 10 years, had to sell it last year :( The most reliable wagon I ever had. Would go places that a Chalenger tank couldn't go. The newer models are just as good and in this weather the mutz nutz mate.

Getting another 4x4 in March, can carry a ton+ and can tow over 2 tons. Next time we get this weather, I can be smug as hell on the way past all the others on the snowy roads lol 8) 8) 8)

I used a Nissan Patrol when I first started.Probably not ideal for wcing but with the seats down gave me plenty of room in the back.Absolutely strong as an ox and built like a tank.I had 2 cars crash into it over the years and there was barely a scratch on it.One of the times the other car was written off.I almost felt bad for the other bloke even though it was his fault.Unbelievably reliable too.Only bad thing is the fuel consumption and that is shocking to be fair.

Most of the newer models will do  40 to 45 to the gallon I think Craig. My old one wasn't even turbo'd. Diesel is about 10% cheaper than petrol here though, so not too bad really. Still see the odd Patrol running around

I use a Nissan aventura double cab pick up with hard top fitted.  500L upright tank just fits.
Brilliant to get around in this weather - but still too cold to do any work.
Get 23mpg day to day (it's auto)
Downside is poles have to go on the roof and load area is not the biggest, but can work as a two man set up.
Load height with tailgate down is perfect for hose reels - no bending.

Hi Roy
I use a Mitsy L200 double cab
fitted a 550 upright inside
I have the extra high truckman top on it
Poles all have to go on top and it is not
as easy to work out of than a van.
It is good to drive though - even in snow  ;D
Bought mine so I could take the kids to school
when needed tow the caravan
and something else!
Oh yes -do some work too 8)

That's why I'm coming over to UK to get my next one. You would laugh at the used car prices here, treble what you pay in UK ::)

hi lads ive got a nissan navar that i go a round in and do the first cleans in ,then the lads do it each month in the van . 4x4 are good but cost a lot to run .if you are a 1 man band i would stick to a van alot cheaper and you can carry alot more water.like i say i only clean new jobs and price up in my 4x4.been very good the last few days and help alot of people that have been stuck must say you can not beat the heated leather seats.

I've wanted an L200 for a while now. They seem like they'd be good for work and also taking the family out.Plenty of nice ones on Autotrader for well under 10k.Thats still beyond me though at the moment unfortunately.

I've had a ford ranger for the past 3 years with a custom 650L tank and 2 reels fitted in it.  Never been held up by bad weather, however when all the roads are just sheets of black ice you still loose a little traction.
