Changing 4040 membranes,how easy is this,does the end screw off and if so which end does.

I've done one once.
It was fine getting it out, but putting the end cap and "C" clip back in was a real struggle!
Make sure you push the new membrane right in, think that's where I slipped up, I ended up having to gently pursuade it with a hammer and some wood.
But got there in the end (after plenty of swearing and cursing).

There's a rubber ring on the membrane and that goes on the inlet side. (to stop the water going past the membrane)
If you do it the other way around, it's very difficult getting the membrane back out because it works against you.
