iv looked at the weather for 2nite and 2morow and its not looking that good as it says it could b -3 allday so would u go out in this?  is there somthing i could put in me water as im on trad 2morow 2 stop it from freezing

Same problem here mate,

Ive got some powerwashing to be done in wales at 2 lidls which has got to be done tomorrow,

Its goin to be a case of one of us powerwashing and the other gritting at the same time,

The trouble with these temps is that when there in no real warming up so what is cold stays cold and just refreez's...so over a number of days everything just gets so cold it is all sub-zero so the water just feezes on what ever you throw water at.

Today I got the gear out and tried a few windows...the water was ok on the glass but it froze on the cills and upvc...and of course the ground...we have had subzero for around 3 weeks now...looking the same for the next couple of weeks...so I am hoping everything will be a bit warmer starting Monday 25th Jan.

You really need to think about your own safety and that of others and how your actions may affect you and those around you after cleaning.

I put a fish-tank heater in my 400 litre outside last night, the putside temp was -3, by this morning the water on the tank was +9C.

A couple of hours ago I pumped it round to my van.

What Ive got for tonight is the fish-tank heater now in the van-mount tank and a small 1KW heater in the van to keep poles, pipes free from frost set on lowest setting.

Im determined to go out tomorrow, my main concern now regarding water temp etc is the water freezing in the pipe when its lying on the ground, so hopefully that water in the van by morning will be up to about 20C, hoping this'll be enough to stop it freezing once out in the morning.

Think I'll leave it til about 10am before I go out there though. That'll be okay 5/6 hours.

matt it wont work mate your hoses will freeze within 10 minutes trust me you have to keep them off the ground

Not necessarily so, water retains its heat far better than you may think. Which is why its warmer to swim in the English Channel at the start of October than in June.

Need some sort of insulated pipe, but that seems pretty impractical.

I got a 300W heater in there.

Not expecting anything miraculous like 45C, but by the morning 20 would be funky I think.

I was thinking of getting for my 400l tank in the van...are they ok just left "hanging" in the water?

Why I ask is because in a fish tank, they are clipped up to the side?

most come with little stands that just sit on the bottom ( welll all the 1's i have whilst looking at them )
