New Fiat Doblo being launched Jan 2010
« on: December 29, 2009, 10:22:35 am »
As a Doblo owner for over three years and being generally pleased with it I thought I might mention this:-

New payloads 750 to 1000kg
1.3, 1.6, 1.9 multijet turbo diesels plus 1.4 petrol

Based on old model but slightly larger dimensions with 1.6 option new.

Looks good for owner operators with 400/650L on board.
It's a game of three halves!

I have a doblo,and i love it.
Loads of room for eveything, but only feel comfortable with a 250 flat tank in it.
Mind you i just had a new clutch, mot and couple of bits done and cost me over £500 in the end :'(...

How old is your Doblo? I've got a 400L in mine and it seems quite happy and it's only a 1.3 multijet too.

I've got a 1.3 and getting slx poles soon.  Can you get them in van or do you need to have them on a rack?  I'd prefer to have them in van if possible.

I also have a 400lt flat just installed.  Fits snuggley and has marine ply on top for shelf.

They fit in at an angle with a brush on or straight (for larger less used sections) without a brush. I have looped a piece of webbing about 6" from the roof across the width of the van and I put my pole over it so the brush is at the top back and the base is at the front up against the bulkhead.

I have the 1.9, twin SLD,  best van I've ever had.  75k miles in the last few years and NO problems.  The only downside is they are a bit weak on weight, that's probably why they have the weight increase.

Mine came with Pirellis all round and I've still got the originals at the back with a good amount of tread. But I do drive it pretty gently when pulling away.

I've done 19,600 miles in just over 3 years. The fronts I changed in Nov 2008 at about 13,000 for Michelin Energy's at £130 inc vat the pair from "Tyres Direct" in Avonmouth. (185/65R13) The earlier pre 55 plate small engined Doblo's ones might be 175's. I reckon I might get 15K from them as they look just under half worn to me.

All my driving is pretty local and start stop and even with just the 1.3 I get wheelspin on wet roads with a full tank in the back - if I had the 1.9 I reckon it would be worse.

Mine's got a trip computer thingy and I average 41/42mpg for local window cleaning, rising to 50 mpg if I go to my furthest custies 12 miles away. But on a motorway run (50 miles plus) at 70mph I get about 50mpg too.
