Having Wednesday off to fish a match then back on Thursday.

Friday off then back to normal on Saturday.

Already looking forward to next Christmas; we fly out to Barbados on Dec 23rd for a 2 week Caribbean cruise with our kids ( the two still living at home anyway!! ). Can't wait

I have £1900 worth of business to to by 5 January so tommorow and every day this week is a working day.

Also you have to remember that the bad weather has not really hit us yet, we still have January and febuary to come, which are normally the worst months.

If you can afford having christmas and the new year off, as well as what is to come in January and Febuary with the weather, then carry on.

But when you are housebound because of the weather don't moan about not being able to earn a living.

after all the crap weather weve just had i would work if i was falling behind on my work , if i wasnt i wouldnt bother .
its a time for familys to relax .
i wouldnt be happy if my wc turned up tomoz while all the family are watching a film .
i dont see much of my family but when i do i like to make the most of it AND IT SURE AS HELL DONT INCLUDE MY WINDOW CLEANER .

Because I did very little in the run up to Xmas and because today is the "real" boxing day I thought I might go to work on Monday (which is an official bank holiday) on my domestics - what do you reckon and if so what time would you turn up?

I choose to work on Monday.  You choose not to.  I can't see the problem really.  I wouldn't try to persuade you to work.  It just seems odd that you try to persuade people not to.

I aint trying to persude you not to work I'm giving you my opinion which I'm entitled to on here,   when I told thew/c where to go when he came between xmas and new year all the others told him the same.

Well, just back from working today 11am til 3pm - bladed doors due to possible overnight freeze, bit slow but got "over three figures" and people were grateful to see me.

No "street sergeant" on hand to try and "run me off" either ... 

"Customer expectations" managed as they should be.

Sure the customer has a choice.  So does the W/C.  The W/c can choose whether or not to continue supplying a service to someone who tries to force him into an extra, unwanted week off.  The customer also has the choice whether they want to continue with the W/C.
I'm just surprised that you come out in favour of the customer on this one.  If I were to allow customers to make such decisions for me, I might as well revert to being an employee.

Well I worked as well.  I did a bit of trad commercial work first thing.  Then I held back a while till the thermometer went above zero.  Finally got WFPing around 10.30.  Did a very compact part of my round and earned fairly well.  If anyone was bothered about me working they didn't let it show.  I lost a customer too.  Nothing to do with me working today.  They always let it build up to 3 cleans.  However, they've owed me for four cleans for some time.  In fact, the last time I was there no-one was home so I didn't clean - otherwise it would have been five cleans.  Anyway, I was quite prepared to clean today if the account was brought up to date.  They decided to pay what they owed and not have a clean today.  They're going to let me know if/when to continue.  I don't expect to hear from them but personally, I prefer to work for customers who have a bit more consideration for my cash flow.
