Hi dude, no it's not a techy question

But a fishing pole one & want your advice.

Here's the scenario-

Next march/april I have a new job, it's only once a year, huge private school, 3 day job for 1 man.

It's too high for too long for a telescopic & I reckon I'll need 55ft max. I was going to buy the sl2 but @ £850 (approx) for what I will need it's actually more expensive than the job i.e. I'll make a loss on the first clean BUT it'll be there for future higher work.

WORRYING bit-  There is a 1 week slot to do this job only!! So I cannot afford any hickups i.e. pole snapping etc. It MUST be done ONLY in that said week.

I'm really fancying the fishing pole jobby but worried about it's streangth/reliability of it, I will need quite a deep goose neck on it too.

On this info, what are your thoughts please mate?

well i have for 45 ft out of 2 RT zensorflex and 2 gangsta's ( i got the gangsta's, it was 1 and a few sections from a local guy who had just got the SLX )

price up them 4 poles and its under 200 quid, i know you could just buy another 2 zensorflex and use the bottom 2 sections of each pole and gain a extra 12 / 13 ft ), total price under 250 quid, this would be untested though, but i have used mine at 45 ft and its usable, as the base sections are the thicker, i cannnot see a issue with adding more base sections

now on that other thread they have a 12.5m Carbon pole ( the gangsta is 11M ) so that might gain you a extra couple of feet

I know that Jeff B recommends the M16 or F16 ( or something like that ) for high work

Maybe not depends    on the cill width, dont forget with these featherlite poles you can easily stand much further away to get a  lower angle and reach that extra 3" lower nearer  to the base of the glass, but you will need to have a swivel angle rather than a g neck.

this building is like an old castle, very high windows deep set with no frame!!!! glass flush up to stone/mullions. Probably a putty seal or something.

I do an old castle, if its putty you may find the chalk from it will bleed onto the glass no matter what you do so use less water; and you may need a small 8-9" brush to get into the "arrow slots" . The longer the elbow the harder it is to control You can easily make your own elbows any length you need from 35 degree tv ariel tube from B&Q for £9, I have a topic somewhere if I can find it I will get back

Its called an SLx ( honest) "B&Q are using another tv aerial company to produce a cheap Cranked aerial mast with different angled offsets than previous- approx 30 degrees which is really handy and a lot better than the previuos 45 degree ones. Just shove it on the end of your No4 Zensorflex or any other pole and use it as a gooseneck.. 6ft long but cut to whatever size you want 25mm-1" dia. code 29921R

Cut the Addis stale to about - lets say 12" and screw it into the brush head . Cut the SLx to whatever length you fancy so that the stale pushes into the bend of the Slx firmly. mark round the stale and wrap pvc tape round it as a packing piece to take out the slack and refit.
If you do it right it wont spin but you could also use a simple nut and bolt through the two sections. But you could also just tape the joint to hold it in place. I just use one bend as I prefer less leverage, from the tv ariel mounting tube, (but if you want a double bend then it still works).
The arial tube then just push fits over the end of your tapering modular section.
