How many people really want a regular WC
« on: December 21, 2009, 08:13:17 pm »
Who's noticed over the years that when you pick up a new custy and you tell them your a regular WC and you work in all weathers,  that same custy Jumps for Joy until the day they realise that you really are a regular WC and use any excuse to put you off until next time?

i think its a image ,bygone era problem
i think they think we are the low of the low
sometimes i feel and its been mentioned on here about using a contract setting out the "terms",but is it worth the paper its written on i dont no what the answer is
i am going to start using some form of small card with all details on like cost, frequency,my contact details and probably mention on it we clean all year round and mention this at the point of contact

Happened to me today as well, but it was only the one. If it was several per day then it would pee me right off.

ive quite a few of these "novelty "types.  you can see it on their face after the third clean.  i then relegate them to the lower class and only clean  when it suits me , this keeps them from droppin u .  come this spring im going to have a fresh trawl for new work and  then drop  the noveltys

I am going to be advertising in the new year as a cleaning service on demand.
I reckon there is a mass of work out there to be had by customers who maybe would just like them cleaned every 3-6 months.

Perhaps something like terms and conditions but hey in this day and age you could call it a customer charter ...people seem to like fluffy sounding things...

I use t&c's and whilst they have no legal backup...they do lay out 'your stall' to the customer....

Cheers
Dave.

most people want a regular window cleaner if ur work is in a relatively affluent area!i v.rarely have problems with custys.i define regular 4 weekly/6 weekly/8 weekly.i have on occasions picked up a new custy who wouldnt pay me after the first cleans been done and im on to the second clean ::).i now charge extra for first cleans and im going to introduce a minimum price at last! ;Dfortnightly is too regular IMO although i did have quite a big fortnightly round years ago! ;D ;D

maybe with the advent of WFP once the windows/frames/sills are up to scratch they only need doing every 8 weeks and this could become the norm for a regular window cleaner.im thinking when i add wfp that i should price higher for bigger houses and have 8 weekly as my standard "regular clean"
price higher/work harder!

AGREE , but i do usually say "no worries" while smiling , then Never go back   and then theres a lot of satisfaction ,when they try to get in with you again .

I used to clean a window cleaners house. I say 'used to' because I dumped them last time when they said not this time. They had a call the night before and never said no then. I'm back in their street tomorrow cleaning the houses either side and I just know they will want them doing.

I will have great satisfaction telling 'them'... no, I'm full up in this area now.

They passed a few jobs on to me months back. But they haven't half ped me about with their window cleaning.

Definitely, absolutely nobody wants 4 weekly round here but if you have any business acumen you can turn it to your advantage. Two or four weekly cleans mean lower prices

I've thought about this idea Daniel but I reckon it would only work in an area that you don't have "regulars" in because if you've got a custy that's regular hearing that you will go irregularly by the next door neighbour then it could be detrimental to you.
It's a game of three halves!
