It's because there is protein in rubber.I have one customer where they have stripped all the sealant from windows, he has to cover the wiper blades on his car 'cos they constantly attack them. They start pecking his windows at 4am, some of the glass is permanantly damaged now. It's driving him bonkers but he doesn't want to shoot them.
