WFP customer confidence ?
« on: December 20, 2009, 05:55:08 pm »
I'm just about ready to go wfp, but I keep reading post after post about customers not being happy with the technique, just the type who think you're "cheating" or similar.

So I'd like to know, just how many customers have you lost going wfp ?  AFTER you've obviously explained the process to them and given out an explanation letter first, but they still don't want it for whatever misguided reason.

This question is just holding me back a bit, I'm worrying about losing a lot of customers.  I know I can replace them, but just would like a clear view of how much a problem it will be.

Thanks for any replies.

about 5% of my round. (10 customers)

It will be your ultra fussy custies that go.

Alot will try to put the wind up you.

stick to your guns mate.

You could offer to do downstairs trad the ones you can reach.

I have a few bungalows i do trad, i think the shock of change would have killed them.

We are a nation of moaners, and most, that is all they do moan but won't drop you,  as long as your doing a good job.

get yourself out with another w/c on here to learn a few tips if you haven't already.

good luck mate.

I found the first 2 months stressfull but now been wfp since sept 06.

I don't think i'd be window cleaning still if i hadn't changed, my round i built wasn't great, from leafletting, not very profitable.

my best day wfp is 50% more than best day on ladders, not to mention alot safer.

We never lost any. We also never told any customers of our plans to change we just did it. To be honest most people just want clean windows, preferably without it leaving you sprawled in their gardens, covered in blood and dog poope after falling from your ladder ;)
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

I lost about 5%.  About half those I chose to drop - mainly link detached where I had been going over the garage roof.

I changed over in "areas" during 2006 and I lost 3 immediately and 1 about a year later who reckoned I was damaging his wooden frames (that he had in grey primer for the three years I was doing them!) out of about 200 custies at the time. I now have over 250.

I have custies that let me take my hose through their house as well. (Ones that I previously had to take ladders through.

I find the 70 plus brigade are the worst and the rest of the sheeple follow suit. And you sometimes need to convince the street leader!
It's a game of three halves!

Tony you will find some that don't like it but most will be prepared to carry on as normal.
I lost 3 or 4 but around 3 months several others complained and it felt like my round was rebelling. Lost a couple more but then it all settled down.
Some customers payed reluctantly thinking i hadn't finished cos the windows were still wet.
I didn't give an explanation letter myself but if you do consider giving them any letter, i think it's better to emphasise that you guarantee your work for 24 hours etc etc.

I have lost one to wfp, but she was a weird one. The system was explained to her when my wife knocked. I cleaned her windows 3/4 times, then she said she wasn't happy. I asked what the problem was and was told the windows were still wet. She dried them with a cloth and they were a mess.

I told her why they were a mess - the cloth she put on and told her I wouldn't be back as I only deal with happy smilie customers

She shouted me back, but I walked on and kept laughing.

As said above, some love it, a few hate it and most don't care.

Tell them its for safety, privicy and a better clean. Put that extra bit in on the first clean and your laughing

Thanks for the replies.  That puts my mind at ease then, not going to be loads then.  That's all that was worrying me about the change.
