Working between Christmas and new year, I stopped trying to think what the custies think. Same with working in rain, I used to think they wouldn't want windows done in rain, I was wrong, they don't care really. If you want to work or need to work, then do it. Don't try and second guess your custies mate, that can cost you money.

As usual I wanted a few days off and, as usual, I won't get them.  Not to worry.  Maybe next year   :)

My view exactly.  While it's good to be able to empathise with a customer, I learned long ago that to get anywhere, you have to stop thinking like one.

If I don't work the mon, tues, wed then I'll just end up getting fed up and argue with the kids. For my own sanity I'll work

i tried to work a few years ago between xmas and new year a few years ago and hated it. its the only time of the year we get to shut down totally and i enjoy it very much. We all need to switch off sometimes mine is over the xmas period...bring it on

Xmas is a time to spend with the family. Finish on the 23rd then back on the 4th .
I would not like people calling around my house at Xmas window cleaners or anyone

Xmas is only a few days for many people nowadays.Retailers are all open again after boxing day, many open on boxing day,so i dont see what the differance is.
If you need to work go for it,i like the chance to catch up with some of my customers that i rarely see during the year.

i will have to work, don't know if i will be out due to snow to risky slips and trips. So back at it 29th of dec till 31st off 1st jan.

If the custy doesn't want you there they can tell you and miss ago, i need the money.

Someone pulled a face at me on thurs cos i was cleaning her windows, said it was too cold for window cleaning,

I just smiled and said it weren't that bad, think she had the ump with parting with £20 week before crimbo.

someone else said to me "i thought you'd pack up in winter"

just smiled and said the RBS want the mortgage all year round.

AS cozy and leapstallbuidings say if you want to work then work.

I wouldn't work the on the mon 28th as this is an extra hol due to boxing day being on weekend, and wouldn't work new years day.

you'd be surprised the amount of peole who work the inbetween days. (in all trades, jobs)

We wouldn't go out much at all if we listen to the custy.
Not in winter

not if it looks like it might rain

not if it's cold

not on a saturday

not on bank hols

not too early

not too late.

Just sunny nice days between 10am and 4pm ;)
