the first site is a little dated now

check out the forum though, its got how to build your own pump box, which is basically what you need

i now use a sack truck, its designed to move around large weights all day, it does the job well

the only thing i was wondering is how you made the shelf that barrel sits on, could you shed some light.

from my memory i think he got a mate to weld a shelf on

you can just make up a box ( 4 sides ) for the battery to go inside and the barrel then sits on top of that, it works well ( ive made mine out of wood )

i thought about something like this with  my wcw backpack.

solves the problem of pump and battery boxes.

do you get fed up filling up backpack with barrells?

I syphon out of barrels and fill it in no more than 30 secs from empty so it doesnt really bother me.

Yes the 2 top straps from backpack are holding it to trolley so easy removal.

re:  syphoning.

my old man went on about this.    but i said it would take forever. (obviously i'm wrong )

sensai, what size hose do you use for syphoning?

i was a little worried that water may get higher ppm readings, if syphon hose got dirty.

i have escort van, so leave barrel in van near back door, backpack on floor tube in and away you go!

30 secs is quick, it takes me this long to pour out of barrel.

I use a length of transfer hose from my transfer pump

This stuff



1 1/4", it really does fly out and saves any lifting what so ever. Only thing i lift in and out is the trolley.

i just have a 12V sub pump from a caravan

well i now have 2 on the go, as its twice as quick

yes, only because i fitted a tank after my hernia, pump it from my ran water butt to my tank then into my 25 L barrel

just the same, just plop a sub pump into the barrel and awa you go, get a 12 L per min pump and it'll take you under 3 mins, shorter than reeling in a 50 M reel when it catches on a few things )
