new pump

I bougfht a new pump for my R O of E BAY .80 psi and 2.6 litres per min. My question : should it keekp cutting out afer running 15 second to come on for anoethe 15 sec and so . AND WHY DOES IT DO THIS.

or the pump is shorting out in your van when you changed it over,check your connections!! good luck

i doubt it is the battery, the pump is cycling due to pressure.
The pump will raise the pressure to a certain limit (probably 80psi) and then the pressure switch cuts it out. After a few seconds, the pressure drops below the threshold again, and the pump switches back on.
It shouldnt cause a problem, it is just trying to maintain a nice constant-ish pressure. They are made to switch on and off like this.

Thanks D R Windows I think you a rite as its a ro pump running of mains. The thing is it cuts out a 50 psi and its a 80 psi pump.This baffles me a bit.

i have just got the same pump and mine does not cut out, but i have been told not to run them for more than an hour and a half then give it 20 mins to cool the transformer down.

when i visited red hat at selby a couple of months ago and i seen the pumps my first thought on these were that they were poor quality , they are imported from china i think im sure thats where the chap who sells them said .
on the other hand k7poo who bought 1 as been happy with his , could maybe be a bad batch .
