overstock.com is not a UK supplier, its US based.

You can get the L5 from main supplier (still US)

http://www.goenergystead.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=L5

Total is $117.15 which works out at about £108, but expect another £20 if customs sniffs your box (don't - there's too many jokes!)

I have a question about L5 heaters.

When I was a nipper, my dad hired a motorhome and took us all away on holiday.  I remember the gas bottle to this motorhome being in a little cupboad on the outside of the thing.  Every time we went everywhere, my dad was very particular about disconnecting the gas bottle inside the cupboard, he said it was illegal to drive with it connected.

So, my question is this:
firstly, is that true?  Is it illegal to drive around with a gas bottle connected, and if so do you have to disconnect it every time you drive to a new house/building.

secondly, don't you have to have the gas stored outside the vehicle, like the little cubby hole on this motorhome?  And if so, how do you do that?

Yes,.. in the UK it is a legal requirement to disconnect the gas when driving.

You can buy special boxes to put your gas bottle in which are airtight (Search for online chandlers, they're commonly used in boats). I was told that its not a legal requirement (Check it out for yourself though to be sure),.. I know for sure its not in Ireland,.. but it is sensible.

Gas is heavier than air, so I've vented my van floor instead.
