how to clean lead marks off

hi just been to look at a job there are 25 windows all with lead marks on them all the lead has been removed would they just wash off or would something eles be needed

hard to say how easy it would come off but i would prob try a good soapy mopping and a use a wc scraper.

i think its a build up of muck and adhesive  it would not rub off with a cloth though

you need an adhesive remover try along the lines of titan labs oil flo - maybe some solvent upvc cleaner, white spirits etc..

prob take a good few hours for 25 panes.

hi glen

i done a 3 bed semi with the lead like that

took around half a day

i used some meths with zero grade wire wool,

in a certain light you can still see where the lead had been

i think its called photo effect

If you use meths, I would use goggles. Get some in your eyes, and it's not good.

Try some oilflo first.

Totally OTT, I've never seen a tramp wearing goggles, and they bathe in it ;D

whats photo effect?

its where some glass, eg sealed units with a tint retain the image of the pattern

of the lead on the glass

i was thinking around the £75.00 mark
