chewing gum removal using cold water and chemicals
« on: December 13, 2009, 11:38:56 am »
hi guys there must be someway of removing chewy and its residues with cold water and chemicals.

hot washers are very expensive and sometimes its only small areas that have chewy on so a quick blast with a turbo after some spray has been applied should be all it takes.

it cant be rocket science to produce a chemical which melts the gum can it?

any advice and tips appreciated.

DS you can use a freeze spray and then hit it with a hammer

If frozen their not sticky and use a plastic hammer - or invest back into your business and buy a hot box or steamer

Their is really only one good way of removing gum , that is with heat, either low pressure steam machines or hot water pressure washer. The low steam machine also uses a chemical to break down the gum once heated.

In my experiance you cannot always get the stain out (animal fats) from the surface , I think the degree of staining depends on the porosity of the surface being cleaned.

I am not being rude but some of the questions on here seemed to be asked over and over again , have a look at previous posts and you will find a wealth of helpful information there.

i use one of 2 chemicals to remove gum off carpets both are in the espo catalogue  1 is called gum-solve and the other one is called break- up break up is slightly cheaper and you get more in the bottle also check out the clover chemicals website they  have some which is very reasonably priced and i think that is in 2 1/2 ltr containers

Removing gum is not quite the same outside as it is from carpets

I would'nt think a bazooka would be cost effective if you had too many pieces to remove
