leaflets do work!
« on: December 10, 2009, 11:27:59 am »
leaflets do work..... got a call last night from a flyer i dropped through a door about 3 months ago.  Some people must keep them, stickem on the fridge and wait for that rainy day!  going round tonight to quote for wc and gutter clean so probably £80.  Flyers do work but knocking get results faster

My trick is to stick the leaflet to their windows, with extra strong glue.  It is amazing how many calls I get back.

Of course if you drop enough leaflets you will get some work from them, but my experiance is you would need to drop thousands just to get a small amount.

I'm finding from experiance that there is no substitute to canvassing, instant results and compact work. Going out again later and hopefully I'll pick up several, but I will be leafleting the not at homes.

That's so true bud, but as someone mentioned on here recently, it's the ones that respond to fliers that seem to be the no nonsense punters. I guess it's cos ya not throwing ya services down their throat or putting them on the spot. It's cos they do sincerely take pride in their homes and are willing to pay a few bob to achieve that.

i drop leaflets round explain urself, and the service u provide, and then go back on em,and knock on they door, then it a yes i want em doin blah blah blah,or no,and move on,gives em time to read ur leaflet and think about it,and maybe tlk to they partner about it,rather than puttin em on the spot first time

On there own there not very effective, but I wouldn't call them a waste of time as I've only had a small amount of jobs from the leaflets on the own, but the money I'll earn from these jobs will more than cover the cost of the printing.

I still reckon that each leaflet dropped is worth 50p to £1 a year on the turnover.

I've had people ring me from leaflets I've dropped 6 months previous. They don't get a great hit rate compared to knocking, but as said above... Gets good customers I have found.

When my wife was knocking for me, she used to hand a leaflet to anyone who opened the door (and posted those who didn't). she would then say she was delivering them for me and would they like a quote. She did well that way.

Leaflets are not a waste of time. If they were, you wouldn't get them through the door ;)
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

i got a call from an estate a few miles away from me. Ive only got 5 customers there but got a call yesturday from a woman needing hers cleaned. I was chufted coz out of about 500 leaflets ive printed myself on the computer i got one response.

Canvassing is better ive found tho. Best to drop leaflets then canvass few nights later

Leaflets definitely get a better class of customer but they are slower and if you are in a hurry then canvassing is much quicker but you get more time wasters. You can get a call back from a leaflet years after you dropped it

I am acting as an "adviser" for my friends son who got made redundant and is building a nice little round now in Watford. On my advice he is doing it with leaflets and the work is building up nicely.

Don't do it, most of them go in the bin and never get inside the papers. The ones that do don't get read.

I was thinking that Vince,I just bin all the crap that goes inside the free paper that comes to my place, without reading It.I would perhaps take more notice, but there are piles of flyers in it every week, too many to bother with.

Yeah you get about 10 leaflets in my local free paper and half the 50 page newspaper is adverts! Then you get 3 pages of news and a page of sport on the back apart from that it adverts, houses for sale (adverts) and cars for sale (adverts)  :P
