Wfp and window vent help
« on: December 08, 2009, 05:45:45 pm »
Hey guys one of a few posts I need to make tonight,

I have a lot of houses on one of my rounds that have vents above the woindows. What is the procedure to clean these windows without too many problems,

Cheers.

Either stay away from the vents altogether
or clean them with a low flow rate do all the vents then go back when the water has stopped dripping and clean the glass
one tip try keeping the jets spraying downwards to avoid too much water going in to the vent

So clean the glass, and frames, but leave the top of the frame?

And be extra careful when rinsing!!??

i give the vents a good scrub and rinse the sooner you get the dirt out the better if you catch the vents in future will only get dirty runs on glass

This is the best way - but perhaps just first time and then every third/fourth time.
It's a game of three halves!

So Just clean them and the top frames every 3rd/4th time. Dont clean into them or do?
Make sure I dont spray water in them?

And clean the rest of the frame every time.

Sorry if its seems stupid or I do....

I give them occasionally a gentle horizontal back and forth go with a wet brush but with the water off.

Do NOT spray water into them, it'll either flood the inside window-sill or run back out 30 minutes later dragging all sorts of muck with it from within the vent onto the newly cleaned glass.

Just ask mate, I was like that when I first went over.

Clean rest of frame on every visit if needed.

I just run the brush over the vent with the water off, then rinse from the top of the vent down only on bottom windows though, top windows i leave them unless the vent is really dirty, if the rest is clean thats fine, i couldnt work without my trigger and i dont know how some guys can.

I adjust the brush head so the jets are slightly downward when cleaning - i really scrub hard and rince well the very first time and remove all spider poo and dirt. - as yet never had a problem of water inside

then all following cleans is a simple pass over the top to keep clean.
