« on: December 07, 2009, 07:07:38 pm »
My name is Tam Moffat, some of you may know we, some may not. Very out/spoken at times. I am an ex commitee member of the FWC for a lot of years, until 2 years ago. I am a trad w/c or should I say, was. I was against wfp for years and fought for the trads for  years. I now must eat humble pie, so to speak.
I am now wfp, with most jobs. I do not go up ladders, I still use back/flip, anybody at Burmingham a few years ogo would have saw my demonstration for the Fed, on jobs that would not be suitable for wfp.
3 months on, a few cons. roofs, gutters and soffits, high work in Glasgow, considering I am 50 miles away, I have paid, when I get paid, for all I have paid out.
I want to say sorry for all the posts that I made in the past as, with tunnel vision, you dont see the whole picture.

fair play to you.

I have written a post now three times and not posted due to not wanting to up set you or make fed committee spilt there tea and biscuits out.

seems a good job you left the committee as they seem to be moving in the right direction for all window cleaners not just the old school trad cleaner I would love to know the full line up of committee members I bet all are over 50 under 80 maybe  :-X

Ian

p.s did I say glad you went wfp, you will be kicking yourself when up to speed  ;)

I had the same attitude also. I kept slagging it off. Telling people it was crap etc.

I think lots of us did/still do.

Wfp turned out to be the best move I made though.

I think one will slag off wfp due to the threat to ones income and vice versa. We are just cutting a rod for our backs. The custies do not know any better, only what we tell them. They would not do the research in to the prows and com of each system. By slaaging of wfp or Trad in some cases we are making a change over practically imposable for our selves. Let’s bring this short sightedness to an end and become true pros and come to realize we need both systems. To the trad guy try cleaning 3 floor of a ladder and to the wfp guys try cleaning inside a building. Need I say more?

Take the commitee of FWC, I got asked to leave after 5-6 years on the commitee. I was informed that I did not do enough to merit  a place on the committee. Brian Dolby put a memo that i did not see ,to out me from the commitee at the last minute, I had no defence as it was sprung on me at the last minute. I implemented the SQA/NQA at the FWC. We got a NQA at the FWC office wich was a con for A walker, and he dissapeared with the NQA, No.  I was against this. I done numerous things for the Fed at Trade Shows, inc having S/NVQ, with the bICS rep with me. To be continued.

Was that just after you came on the forums, using offensive language, and making the Fed look unprofessional.

Fair play for coming on here and re-addressing what was said. My personal opinion is the  FWC is old hat now and has very little to offer and the dwindling membership reflects that. I say again if the FWC is to remain influential its got to reinvent it self

Ironically, his cleaning may have been rubbish because you redid them.
Not an insult to your window cleaning but he was trying to take chemicals/detergent off thge windows to keep the water pure and you were probably putting detergent back on them.  He turns up the next time expecting the glass to be free of such stuff and cleans with the expectation that no chemicals have been used on the glass since his previous visit.
