decided to go....WFP..eventually!!!
« on: December 07, 2009, 11:10:36 am »
my moment of madness has passed!......................

1.hose up the stairs to bath tap for fillin up/or mums/girlfriends.

2.custys will love me cleaning ALL frames/sills/doors AND windows above the conservatory!

3.a more thorough clean first time.technique will improve as i gain experience!

4.easier on the body and safer(especially with the SLX!)

5.MAKE MORE MONEY OVER TIME DUE TO INCREASED WORK/MORE SERVICES AS MENTIONED ABOVE!

6.have spares at the ready(connectors/pump/poles etc)

7.increased overheads/water bills/resin/poles etc but easily covered and tax deductable

8. ITS A NO BRAINER!!! ;D ;D 8) 8)
price higher/work harder!

We all have moments of madness Daz. You have made the right decision, and in time you'll be on here encouraging people like Stan  ;D to make the move, you'll have the evidence yourself and thats all you'll need to know what is right.

Now its all exciting stuff, good for you.

Good man, welcome to the dark side.

The trads among us will still try to lure you back by telling you that we've all lied about the benefits of wfp and that trad does a better job, etc, etc, yawn, yawn, but the simple TRUTH is that wfp is a damm good tool that, ONCE MASTERED, offers a finish easily comparible to trad, without the need to climb ladders. You WILL pick up more work simply because you'll be able to cater for higher windows, you WILL earn more money in time simply because this method is a whole lot quicker than trad and you WILL look back and curse the fact that you took so long to make the switch in the first place.

Now, go earn lots of money ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

another thing to encouarge you to make the swap is the fact that you been cleaning most custy 15years trad.they trust you and want a good reiable service which you supply.
if you tell them that to trust you with the switch over 99% of them will.tell them the truth that you well encounter problems when switching over, but you are learning it and to trust you with it.also tell them that in the long run it will be worth it to them.

just my thoughts

just because the CIU feel you should, it doesnt mean its right for you

if your happy trad then thats a massive plus

i use WFP because of the safety side of it, thats it

Daz, at last!
Here are a couple of tips I used when changing over.

I told all my custies that I was thinking of the change but had to balance the expense of it against my safety and the health and safety side

I then told them that I was going to change and would not put their price up if they agreed to stay with me for the first three cleans. I advised that it may take two or three cleans to get them flawless. I also told them after the third clean they could change back to trad if they were unhappy with any aspect of water fed.

Lastly I went the biggest gob on the round (we have all got one!) and told her what was going to happen, told her of the first three cleans ect and was met with the expected negative response. She did agree and I cleaned them 3 times over 2 days. Morning 1st clean, end of that day and then at the end of the second day. When I called on the third day to check them she gave me 3 names and addresses of her friends local to her as she was that impressed.

I had at the time 180 customers and since wfp I have now 325 and work the exact same hours as before.
I did hate it the first month as I spent too much time worrying about what people were thinking about the new system, the truth was as long as their windows were clean, they were happy.
I lost two custies and could not get two to come up good, these I passed to a trad cleaner.

Sincerely good luck.
Lee

Nice one daz although younger i am similar to you, been building up the last year or 2 with trad and am doubling my money year on year the next logical step is wfp so i am looking forward to your updates on how it going

i use it for some domestic and most commercial but still 90 % of our workload isnt changed i did have a trailer a while back but that didnt work out

im currently saving for a van mount (not got van yet :) ) will then be changing over 100 % to a 2 man syatem (have a part time helper)

my main reason is my helper does downstairs as i dont want him falling off a ladder, so his input is limited whereas 2 of us wfp i know that even f i dont do more speedwise the fact that we can both do a house each or back front etc means my earnings should really jump pretty quick and accelerate rapidly also van mount will be faster on the stuff i already do wfp with backpacks etc

good choice mate

let us know how it goes

Good.  Don't expect to be quicker at first with WFP though.  It can be slower for a while until you adapt.  I think I really started benefitting from the extra speed on the third time around.  At first, you may think you've made a big mistake.  You haven't.  You're just re-learning your round.
