with a booster pump I have produced over 7l per min with a booster pump think it was nearer 15 but cant be sure now as was long time ago, I run on static tanks down so do not time it just fills over night.

well it takes my transfer pump about an hour to transfer to the van and my van is better insulated than me shed, just waiting for a unit to come up available and will be moving into that

I have a 4040 with booster in my shed and use it to produce 650Lts.  It takes between 3 to 4 hours depending on temperature.  If I was you I'd keep it in the shed though as it's easier to protect against frost.

get a different transfer pump, I can shift 650l in about 7 mins with my transfer pump


it is cheap enough about £30 from wickes, and hour tells me your using the wrong pump m8 to be honest.
Why not insulate your shed ?

1.5 inch, could be 1 inch I think  : (I should realy know that, slaps his wrist) if I locate my tape measure I will tell you a little later.


How far is your shed to your van ?

you can get layflat hose and cheap, I went for the yellow hose myself, was more expensive but I use this thing alot and paying about £25 for the about 10 meters I needed was worth every penny. the water blasts out, I can vidoe it and show you if you want.

Joe, I would defo recommend keeping the static tank and try the bigger hose, if still over max 15 mins then change the pumps aswell. van mounts are a pain in the back side, and dont be fooled into thinking it will not freeze in your van, when I had one (still do, but unused) it frooze.

depending on how much you want to spean.

b&q insulation was on offer 2 for 1 if you have the funds plaster board over if or plastic sheet if funds tight.
 the hose should make a difference depending on your pump, if not about £30 and you will truely be shocked how fast water will move...

I use static tanks as it's more flexible to always have water available.

I bought some excellent 40mm hose from designation.com. It's called atlantic 2001 i think, it's expensive but it's like the hose in a petrol station. It fits onto the basement clearing pump I bought by a co called clarke, the pump itself is called Hippo, in theory it does 100 litres a minute, after it's gone thru 40metres of hose its a bit less.

Your problem is small bore hose.  The most powerful pump in the world wouldn't make it transfer much faster.

If you can mount your IBC (or whatever you store your water in prior to putting it in your van) a foot or so higher than your van and use transfer hose big enough to fit over the IBC outlet (probably about 2" dia) gravity alone would fill your van tank in about 10 minutes.

I've a static setup in the shed and a 32mm transfer hose,.. my 650 litre van tank takes only a few minutes to fill,.. I haven't timed it,.. but the tank has overflowed on me before in the time it takes to boil the kettle and make a cuppa!
